When at lower altitudes the typical autumnal mists gather, in Sulden the first delights of winter can already be enjoyed in the crystal-clear mountain air.

The village's favourable elevation makes for an extremely long skiing season, which starts as early as the end of October and only ends at the beginning of May.

And that's not just because in the glaciers around Sulden there are slopes that are guaranteed snow from 1900 m to 3250 m above sea level, but also because the first lift is just 300 m from the hotel's own ski cellar.

Learning to ski in a playful way or fine-tuning your moves on the slopes - neither is a problem with the diverse range of courses on offer from Sulden Ski School. And for those who prefer to explore the landscape on foot or by snowshoe, then the professionals at the mountaineering school are ideal.

The fabulous mountain backdrop surrounding the Ortler could have been designed for discovering the snow-covered nature on cross-country skis.
